We’re just crazy about this eclectic botanical wine and whiskey party photographed by Meghan Sadler. Everything Yeti & the Beast designed for this soiree circled around the femininity of wine and the masculinity of whiskey. They were inspired by vintage botanical and insect illustrations, along with wooden details that are often associated with the process of making both wine and whiskey.
Yeti & the Beast also designed all the gorgeous paper goods you see here… We found a library of old botanical images at hi-res and picked our faves to use for our set. We mixed and matched all the envelope liners with insects and florals. We kept the typography on the inside elegant but simple so we could really let the illustrations, die-cut, and custom monogram shine.
The menu we created was based off of recipes we found that all involved using either whiskey or wine. We made caramel chocolate marshmallow whiskey bark, whiskey soaked cola gummies, red wine poached pears, red wine herbed butter, banana cheesecake with a whiskey glaze, and hot toddies. We served traditional sangria and a whiskey punch.
We loved the idea of having a garland down the center of the table but didn’t have a lot to spend, so we looked to our backyard to find a fresh and fragrant honeysuckle vine that would become the bulk of our garland.
The long wooden serving planks are actually tile from The Home Depot. Brilliant! How do you think those cute little teacups? Thrifted.
We made the tables out of some leftover fence wood from our good friends. We wanted this event to be a little more upscale than your average backyard party, but we also wanted it to feel cozy and welcoming so we decided to use blankets and pillows from our home to cover the ground for seating.
