Patio Lighting | String Lights | Globe Lights | Backyard Ideas

When cooler months coming, I’m preparing for outdoor gatherings and dining al fresco in previous! I’m fairly certain that World Market has seen enough of me over the past few weeks and I’ve been stocking up on string lights, outdoor chair cushions and whimsical umbrellas for the tables that my downstairs neighbor and I share.  Perhaps the most exciting task that I’m looking forward to completing is setting up a beautifully lit courtyard with a bunch of string lights for spectacular evenings outdoors.




One great thing about living in a duplex apartment with only one other neighbor is that she in basic literally cannot care less what I do to the yard and patios. We pretty much have already discussed repainting our shared foyer, window boxes, and pressure washing both of our decks. We’ve even dreamt about powder coating the shared set of outdoor tables and chairs, as well as the massive grill, which have all most definitely seen better days.




Since we’re both on board with getting our string light on in the backyard, we decided that we’d go with a retro looking bulb version for overhead, which we’ll attach from the railing on the landing of the stairs to the top of the privacy fence. For the landscaping and trees we’ll go with the smaller twinkling-looking version that’ll add some whimsical detailing. I’m even planning on adding some really cool led rope lights that can be placed on the outsides of walkways to create a wonderfully lit path to our finished inviting courtyard.




The possibilities of string lighting are practically endless. Everything from outdoor parties and weddings to pergolas and gazebos, there are a ton of ideas and uses for these beautiful accent lighting options.
